Namarrkon, also know as Lightning Man, is the Aboriginal Storm Spirit. He is the protector of the people, hurling lightning from the sky to strike down wrong-doers. Yingarna is the Aboriginal Earth Mother, responsible for seeding the tribes across Australia. Many of
the images are a reflection of Bock’s understanding of the characters,
myths, and legends of the Aboriginal people of The
Jammin’ Tree Didgeridoo Festival is the perfect venue for Bock’s
work. The festival celebrates traditional Australian music, and
its fusion with modern music. When brought together, music and art
transform and enhance each other, and celebrate the timeless traditions
of Australian Aboriginal culture. |
