Adrian
Castelo is a California ceramic artist born and raised in San Diego.
Adrian draws inspiration
from the floral forms painted by Georgia O'Keefe, and by the eccentric
pottery of Mississippi master potter George Ohr. His most
striking works include hand-built vases and teapots constructed with
delicate leaf-like elements, wrapped like layers of an onion around a
solid body. These organic
constructions veil the classic form of the vessel with sculptural
details that give each piece a unique beauty and a life of its own.

Jonathan
Bock's newest works focus on the artist's spiritual and physical
relationships with the natural world. Some are profoundly simple,
iconic images that speak to the viewer on an emotional level.
Others combine images from nature with abstract pattern, bold color, and
geometric design. In addition to works on paper, Bock will also be
presenting a new body of ceramic works focused on the aesthetics created
when human activity and nature intertwine.

Castelo
and Bock will be demonstrating Raku ceramic firing techniques on
both Saturday and Sunday.
